This just might be the hardest part of a 260Z/280Z to find in nice condition. The market is flooded with 50+ year old trim parts that all have the same failure modes; cracking plating due to plastic degradation.
Instead of copying the originally flawed manufacturing process, we decided to elevate this product to the point that you will never have to replace these ever again.
Reproduction plastic bezels have the same problem built in. They're newer plastic with the same plating on it, and they will do the same thing again in ten years.
Machined, polished, plated.
These start as solid 6061 aluminum billet and get machined to shape. Then they're hand polished to a mirror, and chrome plated.
This is not a raw aluminum or brushed billet piece that announces itself from thirty feet. If you're restoring the car, the last thing you want is a rear end that reads as aftermarket.

Installation
Remove the original bezels carefully, since the old plastic is brittle and the tabs like to snap on the tail light mounting pannel. Clear any broken fragments, and repair any broken mounting tabs on the tail light mounting panel. If needed, reinforce mounting holes. Set the new bezels in place and secure with the included hardware.

I couldn't be happier with this purchase. These bezels are truly immaculate. Fit, quality and finish are outstanding and mounting these is a breeze. If you are unsure about your brittle plastic surrounds, add small washers and a dab of silicone after fastening the screws. This mitigates any future rattles and prevents the screws from coming lose without locking the threads.
